Ocean? No problem. Dock? Scares the berjabbers out of us (4/27/18)

The plan for today is to head out into the Big Bad Atlantic (BBA), scoot up 40ish miles and cut off a bunch of the ziggy-zaggy stuff. But first we have to get off the dock. Continue reading “Ocean? No problem. Dock? Scares the berjabbers out of us (4/27/18)”

Gawgaa, sweet Gawgaa. Cumberland Island (4/24/18-4/25/18)

We start our day in Florida, end our day in Georgia and find another great island to explore. Cumberland island. Continue reading “Gawgaa, sweet Gawgaa. Cumberland Island (4/24/18-4/25/18)”

Oh the tides they are a changin’…Sisters Creek, FL (4/21/18-4/24/18)

I like a couple of things. Free dockage when it rains and blows. Lots of water under our keel. Coffee. Two out of three would have to suffice. Continue reading “Oh the tides they are a changin’…Sisters Creek, FL (4/21/18-4/24/18)”

Running along a ditch to St. Augustine (4/17/18-4/21/18)

I’m sure there is some way to be smart on how to use the tides to our advantage. I’ve no earthly idea how it works; our day today? A slow slog northward. But our new favorite city awaits. Continue reading “Running along a ditch to St. Augustine (4/17/18-4/21/18)”

What the hell are we doing out here today? (4/16/18)

We move from Titusville to Fort Matanzas Daytona. And we are reminded we really don’t like Florida. Continue reading “What the hell are we doing out here today? (4/16/18)”

Titusville just keeps on giving: Playing bumper cars. With boats. (4/15/18)

Titusville. Ah, Titusville. Like a Russian nesting doll, it has layers and layers of surprises. If the rocket launch on Saturday wasn’t enough, on Sunday, we got a cannonball in the shape of a power boat. Continue reading “Titusville just keeps on giving: Playing bumper cars. With boats. (4/15/18)”

Rocket’s red glare in Titusville, FL (4/13/18-4/16/18)

I believe my description of Titusville was ‘not a throbbing metropolis.’ And it is not. But it has one HUGELY redeeming quality that very few other communities have. Proximity to a launch facility. Very cool. Continue reading “Rocket’s red glare in Titusville, FL (4/13/18-4/16/18)”

On the road again. (4/11/18-4/13/18)

Technically, it is the water not the road, but I like wailing out Willie Nelson when slogging up the waterway rather than, say Christopher Cross and ‘Sailing.’ Continue reading “On the road again. (4/11/18-4/13/18)”

Land of Gluttony and Hedonism. Welcome back to the USofA! Ft. Pierce, FL (4/4/18-4/11/18)

Holy cow. After 84 days in the Bahamas (and that is about six months or more too few), we are back in the good ole USofA. Fort Pierce Municipal Marina is our home for a week. We have power. Unlimited water. A rental car. Good to be back. Continue reading “Land of Gluttony and Hedonism. Welcome back to the USofA! Ft. Pierce, FL (4/4/18-4/11/18)”
